Smaby Out 2-3 Months

Defenseman Matt Smaby will be out 2-3 months after tearing a ligament in his thumb against Vancouver on Saturday. He will undergo surgery soon to repair it. Smaby will remain on the roster.
The Ducks roster is down to 26, with 14 forwards, 9 defensemen and 3 goaltenders. Check out the current training camp roster here.
It’s weird to think that an injury on your thumb could take you out 3 months, but then again I’ve never torn a ligament.
