Ducks Cut Five More

The Ducks reduced their training camp roster to 37 today when they made 5 cuts.

Assigned to Syracuse (AHL):
Mark Bell – Center
Mathieu Carle – Defenseman
Matt Kennedy – Right Wing
Jake Newton – Defenseman
Rick Schofield – Center

Assigned to Medicine Hat (WHL)
Emerson Etem – Right Wing

The only surprise cut was Emerson Etem, who I thought has been playing phenomenally. He had some great moves and made some great plays. Considering the Ducks performance as a whole was pretty sloppy, I wouldn’t think he would be one to go.

One player who has been extremely mediocre in my eyes is Devante Smith-Pelley. He is expected to be so great, and I am not seeing any of it.

The Ducks beat the Vancouver Canucks in impressive fashion the other night with a score of 4-1. They host the Kings tonight.
