FInally!!! The Winnipeg Jets Jerseys Are Out!!!

The wait is over NHL fans. The Winnipeg Jets released their jerseys this past Wednesday at the 17 Wing Canadian Air Force Base. To make the release even more sick, they had the players walk out of a CF-18.

The long awaited release finally happened and I can’t be more pleased with the result. I am a frequent visitor of icethetics.info which is a blog all about jerseys and concepts. Being a lover of jerseys, I absolutely love that site. But anyway, back to the Jets jerseys. I was nervous about this unveiling because there was so much hype about the Jets being back with a new logo and a new jersey and there have been so many times like these where everyone gets let down. This time however, the jerseys lived up to the hype.

I already really liked the new logo but the jerseys are the icing on the cake. A lot of people were worried about the jerseys being to modern, like some of the jerseys currently worn in the league that some fans aren’t too pleased with. The new jerseys are clean and simple, just what I was looking for. The two light blue stripes on the arms are all the jerseys need to be sick. More importantly however, the jerseys pay homage to the Royal Canadian Air Force with its two blues, “Polar Night Blue” and its “Aviator Blue.” The main blue color also pays homage to the old Winnipeg Jets jerseys with a slight different blue hue to it.

I look forward to seeing these jerseys in action. The first time in the regular season will be on October 9th when they host the Montreal Canadiens. The Jets will also wear a commemorative, opening night patch along with an inaugural season to signify their return to the NHL.
