Ducks 4, Flames 2

The Ducks Fans at the Saddledome were outnumbered maybe 100 to 1, but that didn’t quench their enthusiasm. You could hear them after every goal…I wonder if they had to have security escort them after the game?

Jarome Iginla (of course!) scored first, but then the Ducks decided to take Kiprusoff apart again. We scored twice in the first (Ryan and Perry), once in the second (Lubo) and once more in the third (Perry). However, we committed a bunch of stereotypically dumbo penalties throughout the game: cross checking, roughing, slashing, tripping, hooking, and a partridge in a pear tree.

The win is obviously the important thing, but we have to win intelligently, not act like the Red Wings and do stupid stuff. If we focus I think we are capable of displaying sick skills as well as intimidation, but the dedication isn’t quite there yet. We will definitely need that kind of commitment against the Sharks and also against the Kings.

The show’s almost over, guys and gals and if we don’t maintain the standards that Teemu Selanne has been exhibiting, peeps are gonna start jumping ship.

As one of the fatcats in “The Hudsucker Proxy” said, ‘I’m getting off this merry go round!’ (just the first 1:30 of the vid)

Now then, on to the faithful friends of the waterfowl! What are our strengths and weaknesses?

Well, obviously our RPG line has ramped back up, goaltending – while not perfect – is experienced and hard working, we have Beauchy back in the fold, Fowler and Sexton look strong and Parros is once again laughing at some of the idiots who try to take him on.

The negatives are that we need to reign in Winchester and I’m worried about the fact that Fowler and Sexton do no have post experience. Those two just might collapse. That would suck.

…and finally, here’s how the Flamers can make a few extra bucks during the off season…
