Ryan’s Return & Stats Galore!

Getzy, sporting an angry looking scar between his eyes, confirmed that he’s ready to get back into the action after having missed 14 games due to a split forehead and nasal fractures.

Despite the loss of their captain, the Ducks managed to win 10 of those games and are currently ranked sixth in the Western Conference with 62 points.

It’s unsure if Getzlaf will be put back into his usual position and play his typical 20+ minutes, But I’m sure the adjustments will all be for the best.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t sneeze.

With a whole whack of down days, the official Ducks site has posted a dizzying array of stats, facts, recent trivia and the post should have been titled: “Everything you ever wanted to know about your Anaheim Ducks plus stats and figures you didn’t even know existed.”

The fast facts that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside were:

• Corey Perry recorded his second career hat trick in the 3-0 win in Denver on February 5th and became the first player in Ducks history to score ALL three of his team’s goals in a win.

• Cam Fowler’s working on maintaining a point streak (3-1=4). He’s scored a PPG in three consecutive games from January 22nd – February 2nd, making him the second (and youngest) rookie defenseman in NHL history to record a PPG in three straight games.

• Teemu Selanne is just one goal shy of 100 career game-winning goals – this feat would put him in the rarified company of Gordie Howe (121), Phil Esposito (118), Jaomir Jagr (112), Brett Hull (110) and Brendan Shanahan (109).
