“Growth, Outreach & Awareness Locally”

In their continuing quest to spread the word that Southern California isn’t just about baseball, football and basketball, the Anaheim Ducks have created yet another outreach programme.  Said Director of Fan Development Matt Savant, “The G.O.A.L. program is another example of the Ducks’ objective to further the youth hockey movement in Southern California.  We are dedicated to enriching the community through unique programming and opportunities for youth hockey players and their families.”

The array of opportunities is dizzying to say the least.  “Learn to Skate” at partner rinks, S.C.O.R.E. a G.O.A.L. through local participating elementary schools, the “Mini One-on-One” tournament, “Hockey Weekend Across America,” taking place nationwide once a year, inviting youth and their families a free education on skating and hockey at partner rinks, Speaking Series, where Ducks players will visit local partner rinks for Q&A and autograph sessions.

…and the list goes on.  Go to the Ducks home page or here for more details and links.

The Rinks” at Anaheim Ice, Corona Inline, Huntington Beach Inline and Westminster Ice also always has too many things going on – from youth hockey, adult pick-up games, a variety of clinics and coming this weekend (at Anaheim Ice) Curling!  Yes, that’s right, you too can spend your Saturday night listening to women scream “HARD, HARD, HARD!”
