I’m Feelin’ A Little Overwhelmed Right Now

facebooktwitterreddit

Not to sound lame, but this past weekend was my first NHL Draft.  Also the first time the Draft was hosted in Los Angeles, CA and one of the rare times all the heavy hardware has ever been or probably will ever be in Staples Center (unless the Kings really ramp things up next season).

So I hope my readers (all 12 of you, up from 4!) will forgive me if I don’t simply blurt out stats and bone dry facts about how the Ducks fared.  All that info and more details than I can suss out are on AnaheimDucks.com and NHL.com.

I want this site to be about the joy, trials and tribulations of not simply my Ducks, but hockey in general because every team is interconnected with every other team in some way, shape or form.

As hockey is a business and many trades are made for purely economic reasons (i.e., the immediate dismantling of the Blackhawks), fans are constantly dealing with wondering what to do with the player jersey they purchased five minutes after that player was traded (not to harp on the Kings, but there are still an awful lot of Cammalleri jerseys at games).

Therefore, I’m holding off on writing my mega-draft story until I know where all the new Ducklings are bound.  I don’t want to start soporific spoutings about a kid who was picked up just to be a placeholder and gets dealt in a couple of days.

Besides, we’re still waiting on the fate of Bobby Ryan, Wiz and do any of you guys remember some guy named Teemu?

Today I leave you with a picture that is truly worth a thousand words, Cam Fowler being congratulated on the Draft stage by Scotty.
