It’s Official. Scotty Go Bye-Bye.

He was ours for a mere five years (four as Captain), but after only two seasons, it felt like the Ducks had never existed without his smooth-as-silk style, quiet reserve and the occasional dust-up to remind the squirts that the old man was still a force to be reckoned with.
I wrote a piece here about the heart of the Ducks back in April.
If Niedermayer was a soldier, he wouldn’t be able to stand up because the weight of all the medals pinned to his uniform. To date, he is the only player to have earned so much hardware: Stanley Cup (a staggering four times), Conn Smythe, two Olympic gold medals, the Memorial Cup, IIHF gold, world junior and a World Cup title.
He was originally scheduled to announce by early July, but now the Ducks have a bit more wiggle room coming into the draft. Hmmm, Emerson Etem anyone?
The OC Register posted a nice piece this morning here.
