Giguere's Injury Progressing

J.S. Giguere practiced in another full practice today and should be able to return in time for next week’s road trip, which starts in New Jersey on Wednesday. If everything works out according to plan, current backup Justin Pogge will not have had to play in a single game as Jonas Hiller continues to shoulder the work load.

Also, Todd Marchant has some dental work done and was not at Friday’s practice.

Other than that, the only interesting notes to come out of practice was the media’s and fans’ obsession with the James Wisniewski / Shane Doan battle expected. Many Ducks fans think Wisniewski can and should put a beat down on Doan, but Coach Randy Carlyle doesn’t expect that to be an issue. Carlyle thinks Wisniewski knows he’ll need to focus on the game and let everything else go, but Carlyle also understands that it might be necessary.

Check back tomorrow for more updates, and hopefully more interesting news than today provided.
