Notes for Tonight's Game

– As mentioned here, tonight’s game will not be televised by the Ducks but will be televised by the Blues’ broadcast team. I have been thus far been unable to find a free online feed of the game, but there is an alternative. The NHL Center Ice package is still in its free preview stage and most cable and satellite providers will have the game through the package. You’ll have to search for the channel number yourself, but it should not be too difficult to find. I personally have Dish Network and the package is on channel numbers above 600.

– Coach Randy Carlyle also spoke about Andrew Ebbett being put on waivers and claimed by the Blackhawks. He was quoted as saying “In reality, Ebby didn’t have a great training camp for us. When you have a bunch of hockey players that vie for the same position … we still have Christensen that we’re playing out of position. We have Nokelainen. We still like him. We still think he’s a good hockey player. It’s just that he didn’t have a great start for us. And, as you know, when you have too many bodies around, it’s one of those things. It happens.”

He also mentioned Ebbett’s size and how difficult it would be for him to play as a winger. “A lot of the game is played around the boards,” he said. “There’s big men on the wall now. It’s not easy to play wing if you’re a small guy.”

– Tonight’s lineup should be very similar, if not the same, to the last game versus Minnesota. Ryan Whitney is expected to play despite leaving practice early yesterday, and the starting goalie will be Jonas Hiller after coming off three consecutive wins and great performances in each.
