Ducks Assign Three More to Minors

The Ducks have sent three more players down to the minors, leaving the club with 33 players on the team’s roster. The players are listed below, and all have been assigned to San Antonio of the AHL.

Matthew Beleskey – Left Wing
Timo Pielmeier – Goaltender
Dan Sexton – Right Wing

The cuts being made must be getting increasingly difficult for the coaching staff because these were three of the better players in camp. Sexton made a huge impact during training camp and in preseason games, so I don’t know what the rationale was behind sending him down. And Pielmeier was, in my opinion, the best Ducks goalie during training camp, but his destiny had always been the minors for this season as Jonas Hiller and J.S Giguere were expected to play for the Ducks. Beleskey didn’t have a fantastic camp but a full year in the minors should serve him well.

The Ducks will have to trim the roster down to 23 players before the start of the regular season.
